In February of 2024, I stopped breathing and was put on a ventilator for 3 days, and spent a week in the hospital. I had pneumonia, COVID, and a lung infection.
This was just the start of even worse outcomes. In May of 2024, I was working as a Nurse and was sent to the ER by my boss because I couldn’t breathe, and the fact that almost overnight I looked as though I was 9 months pregnant, after a CT scan and many hours of sitting and waiting, the Doctor came in and informed me, and my sister told me that I have cancer and I needed to be seen by an Oncologist ASAP. I saw my Oncologist a few days later and was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer and Peritoneal Cancer. I was then sent to a Gynecologist Oncologist, and within days, I began Chemo treatments. I am now on disability due to not being able to hold down a job because I don’t know how I’ll feel each day. Disability is not enough for me as a single woman to pay my bills. I decided I had to find something I could do on my own terms, and according to how I felt each day. I researched and found this was something I could do day or night, depending on how I was feeling.
